The Indian consumer industry is going through a paradigm shift brought about by India’s rapid economic growth. The consumer industry saw changes leading from times of necessities shopping to high dispensable incomes and increasing clan of medium and high middle class households.
There are substantial investments required to build a brand which is difficult for emerging enterprises as they fail to prioiritise on capital expenditures. The consumer industry tends to be very sensitive to economic cycles which effects investing in preferred brands of customers.
