Darshan Chandaria

Darshan Chandaria holds an undergraduate Business Management degree from Cardiff University in the UK. He is a Director & Group CEO of Chandaria Group.

Chandaria Group is one of the largest privately owned business groups in East and Central Africa, with its flagship company being Chandaria Industries headquartered in Kenya. The group has operations in Tissue, Paper and Hygiene Products Manufacturing and Distribution, Flexible Packaging, Real Estate, Mining, Insurance, Solar Energy Generation and Automobile Manufacturing. The group operates in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, India and Dubai.

Darshan is only 29 years old but has quickly become an inspirational leader and a role model for young people in the corporate world. He has been instrumental in transforming Chandaria Group from a Kenyan family business into a Global Conglomerate. He was listed in The Business Daily’s Top 40 Under 40 Men’s List in 2014 for his outstanding achievements. He also received the Asian Weekly’s award for the Best Business Icon for 2014.

He is a member of the Young Presidents Organisation (YPO) in Kenya after being invited to join in January 2012. YPO is an exclusive global network of business owners and CEO’s. Darshan was also invited to join the African Leadership Network (ALN) in May 2013, becoming a member of Africa’s most prestigious business owners and CEO’s organization.

He is a young philanthropist and personally supports a number of schools, NGO’s and institutions across Kenya. In recognition of his philanthropy he was invited to join the Global and African Philanthropy Forums in July 2014. His interests are property/architecture, fine dining, playing tennis and he is a keen golfer, playing off handicap 7. He believes that “success is not a destination but a continuous journey”.
